PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN FILM REVIEW USA

Although I had expectations ( from watching the trailers ) that this might be a good movie, I was still surprised that it's as good as it is. The story is actually more complex than I had expected, involving cursed pirates and their quest to rid themselves of the curse. I won't say more than that so as not to spoil it if you haven't seen it.There aren't as many action scenes as I had thought there would be in a pirate movie, but the ones that are in the movie were very fun and enjoyable. After seeing it, I think it had the right balance of action and drama. There are also, of course, a lot of funny bits interspersed between the action and drama. Some really good special effects also add to the enjoyment of this movie.I wasn't much of a fan of Johnny Depp until I saw this movie. I think he deserved to win the Academy Award for best actor. It's largely because of his performance, IMO, that the movie was so good. Most of the supporting cast did well, mind you, just that Johnny Depp stood high above the rest. I did find Orlando Bloom's performance a bit wooden, but other than that the acting was good.

I couldn't agree more with this person ,as I believed that it would be a good film to see, but I never new it would be anywhere nere as brilliant, also exciting as it is. I also agree that it was very funny, on the other hand I didn't believe this great adventure would involve any more sword fights as the reviewer believed. Overall I agree with this review .

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN FILM REVIEW UK

Pirate pictures are poison. Yellowbeard, Pirates, CutThroat Island - all sank to the bottom of the box office, weighed down with critical bile.
Factor in Gore Verbinski's workmanlike reputation and a theme park ride for source material and Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (deep breath) looks as attractive as the Elephant man.
So, brace the mainsail and shiver those timbers, etc, for this is a superb swashbuckler - rousing, funny and spectacular.
"This is either madness or brilliance," says Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), as he and Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) attempt to steal a ship and rescue the governor's daughter (Keira Knightley). The statement could easily be ascribed to Depp's eccentric, ecstatic performance, and as the singular skipper replies, "It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide."
Depp simply steals the show, lock, stock and two floating barrels. Foppish, fey and hilarious, Sparrow is a brilliant creation - a self-publicising rogue with the élan of Douglas Fairbanks and the demeanour of an acid casualty.
Faced with his scene-snaffling, the others do well to register. Bloom has a Flynn-ish quality (if a touch goodie goodie) as Knightley's squeeze, while the young British actress (Bend It Like Beckham) appears effortlessly charismatic.
Marginally less photogenic, Geoffrey Rush is no less impressive as the villainous Captain Barbossa, questing to lift the curse on the crew of the notorious Black Pearl.
His dialogue is gloriously grandiose ("Compelled by greed we were and now we are consumed by it!"), but always underscored by the wit you'd expect from the writers of Shrek and The Mask Of Zorro.
The latter is a stylistic touchstone for this story of seabound skulduggery - which matches its playful tone, splendid swordfights and cheerful disposability. And while Pirates may be as overlong as its franchise-minded title, the characters are so engaging, the action so entertaining, you won't really care. Yo ho ho, indeed.

In my own opion I do have to agree with this review that Johnny Depp was excellent in this movie, how he is a foppish, fey and hilarious creation. I also agree how the writer was absolutely amazing, who was also the writer of Shrek also The Mask of Zoro. I also like his statement "Yo ho ho, indeed," as this film just makes you want to yo ho around. Overall I think this is a pretty accurate review, of how brilliant this film is.

This is a film poster of Pirates of the Caribbean. From this poster you can tell that it will probably be an action packed, adventure film, with the fierce faces amongst everyone in the poster. From the weapons Jack Sparrow is holding(sword and gun), you can tell that the genre will be some type of action, as those were just not for looking at. Notice how Jack is at the front, followed by Barbossa, Will, also Elizabeth, this shows how Jack Sparrow was going to be the main character in this particular film. This poster shows how its target audience will be mainly for teenagers and adults, as you could tell it was going to be pirate based, with the use of a typical pirates hat on Barbossa's head, also the head where on Jacks. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL DIRECTOR:

DIRECTOR= GORE VERBINSKI

Gore Verbinski has directed a lot of more very well known movies, his debut was a very successful Mousehunt in 1997. In 2001 he was also the director of the famous film The Mexican. He then bounced back with a thriller film in 2002 with The Ring, followed by of course Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003.

This is the key scene where the viewers see Captain Barbossa for the very first time as a skeleton, reaviling what the curse truely does in the moon light.

This is the famous seen where Jack and Will have a sword fight, with the guards on Jack's tail Will will try as hard as possible to prevent Jack from Escaping.

This is the key scene where Barbossa stabs Jack, but Jack reveals he has the curse to, so he is unable to die.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL

Pirates of the Caribbean is a long action packed adventure film, about how a pirate called Jack Sparrow would do anything to be captain of a ship called The Black Pearl again. One day he manages to get caught in a town and imprisoned, meanwhile Captain Barbossa (current captain of the Black Pearl) with his crew sails into the town, in search of a pirate madalian they desperately need to cure a curse upon them. The pirate crew all on the Black Pearl have a curse, that can only cured by the blood of Bill Turner's child being spilt on the gold of Cortez, with the pirate madalian. Finding the madalian they sail immediately to the gold of Cortez, with who they think is Bill Turner's daughter Elizabeth Swan, not knowing that she wasn't. Will turner (Bill's real son), frees Jack Sparrow in help to save her, which eventually ends up with Elizabeth being saved, the curse being cured by the spillage of Will's blood, once again with Jack being captain of the marvellous Black Pearl.

The reason for why I love this film so much, is because of all the excitement that it involves, all the adventures they experience, the many hilarious parts it contains, also because of all the amazing action it includes.

SCRIPT WRITING

I have recently beeen writing my sciprt for my film(MONSTER WORLD). Throughout this I have used a range of camera angles, sayinging how I would use the camera at each point. I have also been dialoguing it, aswell as using description. Monster World is an animated comedy about how these four monsters get made to rise to the human surface, to destroy the human race. Monster World is about how the four amature monsters try to survive, also concur the human world, before they can go back to their belovid world. I think this is a pretty ok idea for a film for someone who has no experience with films. I wrote this script with the help of the Twenty Four Seven script, of how to lay it out.
